A Boundary Alert lets you set up a defined geographic zone on a map and alerts you, via text and/or email, when your vehicle enters or exits that zone.
Designate how far the car goes from a designated address. Then, enter up to two (2) additional e-mails and phone numbers in which you would like to receive a notification. On the next screen, drag the corners of the red box to adjust your boundary. Select a title for your new Boundary Alert and whether notifications should be sent when the vehicle enters a boundary area, exits a boundary area, or both. Once you save it, you now have a Boundary Alert.
Having one zone active at a time will help reduce confusion as well as reduce the number of alerts sent.
- When you select “Enters boundary area,” you will be notified when your vehicle crosses the defined boundary and ENTERS the defined zone.
- When you select “Exits boundary area,” you will be notified when your vehicle crosses the boundary and EXITS the defined zone.
- When both “Enters boundary area” and “Exits boundary area” are selected, you will be notified when your vehicle enters or exits the defined boundary.
You will only receive one Boundary Alert within a 24-hour period to reduce the number of times a notification is set to you. However, all Boundary Alert events can be viewed through the Boundary Alert Events section. You can send notifications to up to two (2) additional e-mails/phone numbers.
